Where do we live? |
|
|
We live and work in the Eastern part of Hungary, in the so called North Great Plain Region. This region, along with that of Northern Hungary, is considered a straggler in our country in view of several indices (e.g. GDP, employment rate, income, industrial and transport infrastructure). The town of Hajdúböszörmény that counts 32.000 inhabitants is within a distance of not more than 20 km from Debrecen, the region's capital. Our town has an ample historical past, and it is considered to be a town that respects and loves its traditions. It used to be the capital of the historical Hajdú Comitat named after the Hajdús (soldier-herdsmen) who were settled here by Bocskai István the Prince of Transylvania. The outskirts of Hajdúböszörmény that cover nearly 40.000 hectares conjure Hortobágy in the west while comprise extended and contiguous woodlands on the sandy soil of Nyírség in the east. The spacious tillage of Hajdúság surrounding the town and stretching out into southern and northern directions provides subsistence for the local smallholders. Please, visit the official homepage of Hajdúböszörmény! |
